Johnstown Jets

This association's charter originally belonged to the Somerset Amateur Hockey Association, which was founded in 1995 out of the new Ice Tracks rink in Somerset.

Ice Tracks closed in 2008, forcing the youth organization to relocate to the North Central Recreation Center in Ebensburg.  No longer being in Somerset, the organization became the Johnstown Jets, which was the name of a professional hockey organization in Johnstown from 1950 to 1977.  That Jets team was the basis for the featured "Chiefs" team in the movie Slap Shot.

It eventually became evident that Cambria County would be best served with one, unified amateur organization, so with the Johnstown Jets struggling to field teams, the association opted to go dormant in 2023 in order to focus the attention of the region on the Johnstown Warriors organization.
